Barbecue 22.08.10

Kenyans in Manitoba recently had a barbecue in honor of the Kenyan soccer team that really put up a fight at the African Cup league. The barbecue was well organised and attended by most members. We would like to thank all of you for availing yourselves and your families, and for making this day one to remember. There was music brought to us by our Kenyan born Winnipeg Djs Dennis and Owen. Famous playwright Shakespeare once said, “If music be the food of love; play on.” and what more to unite us in love than food and music? There was time for introduction as we all realized that the group had grown and people did not know each other. The day also featured a classic soccer game between the youth and wazee that saw the “wazees” exhibit their dribbling skills on the pitch to the max. All in all we had fun to the max and we thank everyone

Those of you who did not make it still have a chance to come for the second one this coming Saturday. This time it will be a pot luck BBQ as we intend to raise funds for the late Mr. Thomas Kinyanjui who passed away at the Health Science Center, Winnipeg, MB. See you there.
